I started in Chișinău — applied informatics, then a master's in software — writing C#/.NET for logistics systems. The route since ran through Belgium, the Isle of Man, Birmingham, and the London market: pensions platforms at Delta Financial Systems, insurance comparison at Compare the Market, and now specialty insurance at AXA XL, where I lead Data & AI engineering and an AI Lab of 15+ engineers and data scientists. Along the way I picked up an MSc in Big Data Analytics and a habit I never lost: being the person who takes the proof-of-concept everyone demos and turns it into the production system everyone relies on.
The pattern across fourteen years is the same one twice a decade: a promising system meets messy reality — legacy migrations, event-driven rebuilds, and now AI systems that have to survive observability, audit, and actual users. That last mile is my specialty, and in financial services it's the mile that matters.
